1880 Fauquier County, Virginia census, Center Distr, taken 3 June 1880: William HITT, age 33, farmer; son, James age 6; son Thomas age 4; dau. Lucy age 3; all born in Virginia. (it appears that his wife, Anna B., had died before the census was taken.

1900 census - William C. L. Hitt not found.
