"Vaughn Miller, 68, 898 Miller Road, Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away Friday, June 15, 2001 in the Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital, Kingsport, Tennessee. He was a native of Ashe County, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Miller. He was a faithful member of the First Freewill Baptist Church, a deacon, a long time Sunday School Teacher of many age levels, and was presently teaching the Men's Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Ella Phillips Miller; his parents, Walter and Beulah Greer Miller, Mountain City, Tennessee; two daughters, Shirley Woods, Mountain City, Tennessee; Carol Stout, Butler, Tennessee; two sons-in-law, Rev. Frank Woods, Mountain City, Tennessee; Tony Stout, Butler, Tennessee; one sister, Shelby Stout, Mountain City, Tennessee; one brother, Garland Miller, Mountain City, Tennessee; grandchildren: Amy and Michael Eller, Eric and Jennifer woods, all of Mountain City, Tennessee; Amanda and David Mast, Blountville, Tennessee; Chad Stout and Cody Stout, both of Butler, Tennessee; great-grandchildren: Kechia Eller and Dalton Eller, both of Mountain City, Tennessee and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Monday at 8 p.m. from the First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Woods, Rev. Kreg Smith, Rev. Leonard Shehan and Rev. Teddy Lewis officiating. Music was under the direction of the church choir. Graveside services and interment were conducted Tuesday at 1 a.m. in the Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Chad Stout, Cody Stout, Michael Eller, Eric Woods, David Mast, Jimmy Miller, David Miller, David Denny and Richard Denny. Honorary pallbearers were Fred stout, Dr. Donald Tarr, Dr. Watson, Dr. Turner, Dr. Kramer, Staff at the Heart Center, Men's Sunday School Class and Deacons of the First Freewill Baptist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Freewill Baptist Church New Auditorium Fund, 336 Hemlock Street, Mountain City, Tennessee 37683.
