Fred W. Green, 89, passed away Friday, March 2, 2012, in Fort Worth. Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church, 4551 Southwest Boulevard, Fort Worth, Texas 76116.
Fred was born March 22, 1922, in Coleman and was a native Texan. He served his country proudly during World War II in the European theater, receiving many medals, including the Bronze Star. Fred retired from Bell Helicopter in 1985. He then continued to serve his community as a volunteer at numerous locations. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for over 50 years and served as the "church handyman" for over 10 years. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Agnes.
Survivors: Daughter, Malia Green; son, Gary Green and wife, Traci; grandson, Chris Hamer and wife, Marisa; granddaughters, Andrea Hamer, Lauren Green and Allie Green; sisters, Jewell Lancaster and Jean Seamens; and great-grandson, Colton Hamer.
