1900 Venango County, Pennsylvania census: Edward Hogan, born 1841, Ireland, arrived in the United States in 1862, naturalized citizen, occupation was shoemaker, owned home, free of mortgage. Living with him was his wife and three children.

"Edmund Hogan was thought to be buried with Mary, his wife, in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Franklin, Pensylvania, but when I went there 9-18-1992 (with Mary McGinty Straub), I did not find his name on Mary Hogan's stone. Birthdate is from 1900 Venango Census and from his marriage certificate. Michael Guere and Catherine Slattery were the witnesses at Edmund and Mary's wedding." (Patty Junkins, 2003.)
