"Mr. Luther W. Larso, 90, longtime resident of the Ericksdahl Community and Stamford died Sunday May 29, 1988 at the Stamford Memorial Hospital. His service was Tuesday May 31, 1988 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ericksdahl, then burial in the DeLeon Cemetery that afternoon. He married Valda Roch March 15, 1935 in DeLeon. They moved to Ericksdahl in 1945 where they farmed until 1975 when Mr. Larson retired. In 1978 the Stamford Chapter of Future Farmers of America presented Mr. Larson the coveted Honorary Lone Star Farmer Award. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and served on the church council. He is surveved by his wife Valda Roch Larson, one brother, A. F. Larson of Wahoo, Nebraska, three nephews, and one niece. Casketbearers were Jerry Neuman, Milton Haterius, Melvin Rosenquist, Leland Nauert, Wayland Shurley, Darrel Richards, Jan Olson, and Charles Stenholm." (Obituary from Valda Roch Larson)
