"The will of John Lambert: Georgia, Jackson Co. In the name of the Holy Trinity, Amen. I, John Lambert, of the county and state aforesaid, being indisposed in body, but of perfect sound mind and disposing memory, and calling to mind the uncertainty of life, do make this my last will and testament. Items 1st. I give and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife, Sarah Lambert, four negroes: namely, Sary and her child Mary Ann, Cary, a negro man and Grigg, and all the personal property that is in her possession at this time, such as household and kitchen furniture together with the crop on the premises whereon she now resides. The said personal property to belong to the aforesaid Sara Lambert during her lifetime and, at her death, if any left, to be divided amongst my children hereinafter mentioned, except the negroes mentioned, which negroes are to be at her own disposal. Items 2nd. I give and bequeath to my son Alexander Brazeal, alias Lambert, a negro girl, Judy and two negro boys, Harrison and Bailey. Items 3rd. I give and bequeath to my son Washington Brazeal, alias Lambert, a negro boy, Bob, and two girls Malissa and Sarah Ann. Items 4th. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Mary Brazeal, Alias Lambert, three negro girls, namely: Nice, Peggy and Theney. Items 5th. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Lucy Brazeal, alias Lambert, a negro girl, Aggy and a negro woman named Fanny. Items 6th. I give and bequeath to my son John Brazeal, alias Lambert, three negros, namely Mariah, Charles and a boy, Hill. Items 7th. I give and bequeath to my son, Edwin Lambert, all the residue of negros together with all the personal property that he is now in possession of, and the balance to Alexander, Lucy and John and the said lands to be divided equally according to the quantity and quality so as to have water on each part. Items 8th. It is my will that all my just debts shall be punctually paid out of my property and out of each of my children's portions or legacies in proportion to the valuations of their amounts given to each child and to my wife, Sarah's legacy. Items 9th. If in case the said John Lambert should draw in the contemplated land lottery, having or being entitled to two draws, if in the case there should be any land or lands drawn in my name, and it being mine, then it is my will that it be divided equally among my three sons, Washington, Alexander and John. Item 10th. I do appoint and ordain Sarah Lambert, my wife, Edwin Lambert, Washington Brazeal, alias Lambert, and John Flannigan my executors to this my last will and testament, making all other wills or testaments heretofore null and void: in witness whereoff I set my hand and seal this 6th day of June in the year of our Lord, Eighteen hundred and twenty six.
