Belus "Cletus" Van Camp

(July, 1845 - Abt, 1923)

Ben Van Camp said, "Cletus Van Camp probably came from Michigan to the Malvern area and died in an old soldiers home in California. James Franklin was notified of his father's death just before he (James Franklin) died."

(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: After many years of searching for the ancestry of my "Uncle Ben" Van Camp, I found the following census records, which I believe to be the person who Ben thought was named Cletus Van Camp, based on Ben's information about him living in a Veterans Home in California. Ben's grandfather appears to have been named Belus Van Camp, not Cletus Van Camp. Ben had very little information about his grandparents, as Ben's mother died when Ben was 5, and his father died when he was 11.)
