(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: Wayne Griffith gives Jesse's middle name as "Murser." Comanche County records show it spelled as "Mercer." As A. W. is his grandson, I would think he would know how Jesse spelled his name. There is a Deed? record in Eastland County, Texas ... "Ardella Griffith, et al, wife of J. M. Griffith, 1937, Vol 342, page 536 and Vol 334, page 243." I did not know the family connection at the time I found the record, so only copied the index listing.)
