Individual Details
John Thomas Porterfield
(February 2, 1862 - February 2, 1908)
"Wheeley Davies Cemetery is located in the edge of Orange County, North Carolina, just over the Person County line near the big tower, near the crossroads of Hurdle Mills Road and Wilkerson Road where Laws Store used to be. (NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: Other sources give John Thomas Porterfield's burial place as Cedar Grove Methodist Church Cemetery. I am not sure if Wheely Davies Cemetery and Cedar Grove Methodist Church Cemetery are the same or different.)
"Mrs. Patricia Monk Hester stated on April 4, 1993 that her grandparents were buried in the Wheeley Davies cemetery. Her parents were Jim Monk and Mamie Porterfield Monk and her grandfather was John Thomas Porterfield. There are no markers for them." (Robert Edwin Washburn, rewstv@aol.com, 2005.)
