"Laura Aline Keeney, 80, of Coleman, died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Holiday Hill Nursing Home. Graveside funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with Chaplin E. J. Chafin officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.
"She was born Laura Aline Dyer, the daughter of Frank Dyer and Myrtle Smith Dyer, on January 24, 1931 in Burkett. She grew up and attended school in Burkett and Cross Plains. She married LeRoy Keeney on September 20, 1947 in Brownwood. She worked at Phillips Drug Store in Santa Anna for 31 years and was a Baptist.
"Survivors include her husband, LeRoy Keeney of Santa Anna; her children, Melba Duke and husband, John, of Whitehouse, Roy Keeney of Coleman County, Sharon Guthrie and husband, Lane, of Santa Anna; three brothers, Tommy Dyer and wife, Kay, of Coleman, Gary Dyer and wife, Dixie, of San Angelo, Albert Lee Dyer of San Angelo; six grandchildren, Will Duke, Kaylynn Duke, Zane Keeney, Kristen Donham, Tom Guthrie, Aaron Guthrie, Shala Olsen; 10 great grandchildren.
"She was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Jackson, brother, John Dyer and a grandson, Lee Keeney.
"Family visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan, Coleman.
"Memorials may be sent to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory, Abilene, Texas 79601."
