"Bobby Wayne Keeney, age 61, longtime Coleman resident, died Wednesday, December 13, 2000, in Glen Rose. Graveside funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Coleman Cemetery Pavilion with Louise Strength officiating. Services were under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Mr. Keeney was born January 30, 1939 in Coleman, Texas where he grew up, and attended school. He was the son of Raymond Keeney and Catherine Lobstein Calhoun. He moved to Glen Rose two years ago and was a member of First Baptist Church in Glens Rose. He was also a member of the Senior Center there and the Silver Tigers, a senior citizens sports booster group in Glen Rose. Survivors include one son, Jessie Wayne Keeney of Austin; one daughter, Norma June Keeney of Austin; five sisters, Frankie McDaniel of Granbury, Ann Kostic of New Jersey, Dorothy Bradshaw, Norma Spykes and Margaret Peacock, all of Abilene; two brothers, Larry Keeney of Taft and Kenneth Keeney of Lubbock; 17 nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Pamela Woods of Glen Rose; 15 great-nieces and great-nephews; two aunts, Gladys Slayton and Christine Turner, both of Coleman; and one uncle, Rube Lobstein of Bangs. He was preceded in death by a son, James Aubry Keeney in 1983. Memorials may be made to the Coleman Senior Center." (Chronicle and Democrat-Voice, Coleman, Texas, December 14 and 19, 2000.)
