Levie Barker Coggin
(November 27, 1859 - April 3, 1948)
"Levi Barker first married Lisa Bush and had one child; then he married Melviney Griffith in Texas. They had ten children; three were born in Indian Territory, Oklahoma; five were born in Texas; and two were born in Lea County, New Mexico, where they had moved about 1909 or 1910, the Prairieview Community. They lived the rest of their lives on the ranch they acquired in this area. Their dwelling for many years was a half-dugout, to which rooms were later added. The dugout still exits. All of the Coggin children were raised in Lea County, married, and some remained in the area."
