"Mrs. Sallie Rhea Brewer, 89, of Slayden, Mississippi, died December 5, 1999 at Johnson Hobson Care Home in Marion, Arkansas. The widow of T. R. Brewer, she was a lifelong member of Slayden Baptist Church and a school teacher for 34 years at Marshall County Argricultural High School. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Ashland Chapter of the Eastern Star. Services were held at 10 a.m. on December 7 at Slayden Baptist Church with burial in Slayden Cemetery. Bro. Gary Adams officiated. Holly Springs Funeral Home was in charege of arrangements. She leaves three sons, Bob Brewer of Grantville, Georgia, Pat Brewer of Sautee, Georgia, Mike Brewer of Piperton, Tennessee, a daughter, Donny Lancaster of West Memphis, Arkansas, a sister, Edith Jones of Coffeeville, Mississippi, 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were deacons of Slayden Baptist Church." (The South Reporter, December 9, 1999.)
