"Rettie's daughter Virginia says that Rettie and Ben Alford were married in Franklin County and lived first in Little Springs in that county. Rettie was called "Sister" by her siblings and "Aunt Sister" by at least some of the cousins, myself included. One cousin reported that Lizzie gave birth to the children and that Sister raised them."
