Blanche Louise Hatcher

(March 22, 1903 - December 26, 1923)

"Blanche Louise Hatcher was born March 22, 1903; died at her home in Enfield, Illinois, December 26, 1923, at the age of 20 years, 9 months, and 4 days. She was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hatcher and spent most of her life with her parents in Enfield, Illinois. She was kind and dutiful to all and loved by all who knew her. She was a victim of that dread disease tuberculosis and for more than a year was unable to work, though she bore her illness with patience, always trying to be pleasant with everyone. She leaves to mourn their loss, her parents, two sisters, Miss Mildred Hatcher of Enfield, Mrs. Hazel Holleman of Evansville, Indiana, also one half brother Arthur E. Hatcher and one half sister, Mrs. Claud Summers of East St. Louis, Missouri besides a host of relatives and friends." (Carmi Times, Carmi, Illinois. Contributed by Marilyn Vaught Young, sent to her by Gene Hatcher, from a scrapbook started in 1889 by his Great Grandmother, Susan Hatcher.)
