"Addie S. "Del" Funderburg, age 86, of Coleman, died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Coleman Healthcare Center. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2008 in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jerry Chastain officiating. Burial will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home. Addie was born May 18, 1922 in Yakima, Washington, a daughter of Thomas William Studdard and Ethel Evans Studdard. She was raised in Yakima and graduated from St. Euphrasias School for Girls in Seattle. She moved to California in 1942 and to New York in 1944. Her first husband Alfred C. Montegro was killed in Salerno, Italy during World War II. Addie lived in New York City from 1944-1952 when she went back to Yakima, met and married James Stricker in 1955. Her son James was born in 1957. After divorcing in 1976, she came to Coleman in 1977 and married Mike Funderburg in 1978, making Coleman her home. She was Seventh Day Adventist and a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Mike Funderburg of Coleman; one son, James Stricker of Coleman; mother-in-law, Mary Funderburg of Coleman; two brothers-in-law, Tommie Funderburg and Stephen Funderburg both of Coleman; two sisters-in-law, Susan Culpepper and husband J.D. of Zephyr, Adelita Funderburg of Deerfield, Kansas; two aunts, Sandra Steffey and Geneva Morton both of Coleman; three nieces and two nephews, Eden Culpepper, Ciera Culpepper, Lacy Culpepper, Samantha Sue Funderburg, Monolito Funderburg; great-nephew, Zane Harrison Culpepper-Perez and great-niece, Zondra Funderburg."
