Information about the children of Ward Hatcher is from the notes of Mrs. Archie T. Greer, before her death in 1977, as sent to me by her granddaughter, Cindy Barbee, in 2002. Her information was from the Bible of Mary Hatcher, dated 1822.

I transcribed an old cemetery in 1990, and just ran across it. I thought this might interest you as you did not have the information listed. It is an old cemetery,no name, on a large hill of South Harpeth Rd. in Cheatham Co. TN. The stone read: Ward Hatcher was born Feb. 13th 1800 and married Mary Smith Aug. 10th 1823 and died July 25th 1838. There is no stone for mary. There is a stone for a J. H. Smith Jun. departed this life Dec 9th 1838 aged 8 yeas. 10 months and 24 days. There were many field stones and vandalism of stones and graves. I am pleased to send this to you.
