"Funeral services for Irvin Dunn, 68, Proctor ranchman, and a longtime former Comanche County Commissioner, Precinct No. 3, were held at 3:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, February 26, in Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Melvin Fields, assisted by Rev. Paul Hornburg. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery at Hasse. Pallbearers were Durwood Strube, Herbert Kennedy, Cullen Stephens, Jack Wilkerson, Bill Evans, Derwin Nabors, Jerry Morris, and Jack Gray. Honorary pallbearers were Martin Gore, James Rucker, Donnell Davis, Jerry Baker, Johnny George, and Bill Clemons. Mr. Dunn died at 6:07 o'clock Friday evening, February 24, at Dublin Hospital. Son of the late Albert and Mable Sliger Dunn, he was born June 18, 1920 in Comanche, and was a lifelong resident of Comanche County. He was married to Freta Smith in the Baggett community on November 25, 1939. He was a member of the Baggett Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Dunn is survived by 3 daughters, Janette Weidner and Beth Bruton, both of Comanche, and Letha Northcutt of Proctor; a brother, D. M. Dunn of Hasse; and 6 grandchildren."
