Andrew A. Greer served in Co. I, 13th Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry. He died at Nashville in the Civil War.
(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: Warren H. Houck shows Andrew Greer, who married Catherine Lawrence, as the son of Elijah Greer and Sarah Hawkins. Other researchers show Andrew A. Greer, who married Susan or Susannah Greer, as the son of Elijah and Sarah. The 1860 Ashe County census shows both of these Andrew Greer with their own families, at Family #333 and #666. However, since the Andrew Greer at family #333 is next door to Elijah, then this Andrew, who married Catherine Lawrence is the son of Elijah.)
