"MARION -- Grace Elizabeth Greer George, 89, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, in Francis Marion Manor. Mrs. George was born in Grayson County to the late James Roby and Emmaline Greer and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Clinton George. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Opal Harrison, Lydia White, Virgie Greer, Bruce Greer, Roy Greer, Ervin Greer and Wave Baldwin. She had worked at Harwood and was a member of Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church. Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Willie and Doug McFarlane of Marion; two sisters, Alice Powell of Marion and Margie Shine of Houston; one grandson, Aaron and wife, Martha, of Staunton, Va.; special friends, Herbert and Marion Teaster; several nieces and nephews; and her extended family at Francis Marion Manor also survive. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from Bradley's Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Mike Sage and Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p. m.Thursday evening at the funeral home.
