(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: I am assuming that Leonard, shown as the grandson of David and Emma Wilder on the 1900 and 1910 Hancock County, Tennessee and James Leonard Wilder, shown on the 1920 and 1930 Tazewell County, Illinois censuses are the same person. Knowing that many times in Hancock and Hawkins Counties, Tennessee, women married cousins within the families, and that many times a single woman would have one or more children, usually using her maiden name. From the evidence, it appears Leonard, Davey and Mary were the children of Eliza Wilder, daughter of David and Malissa Emma Wilder.)

Delayed birth certificate shows James Leonard Wilder was living in Pekin, Illinois in 1955. H's father was shown as unknown, mother as Eliza Wilder. Documents for his birth were, 1) family record dated March 8, 1891; 2) affidavit of J. H. Wilder, uncle, March 21, 1955; 3) affidavit of neighber, E. H. Spradling, March 21, 1955. They all stated he was born March 9, 1891 in Hancock County, Tennessee to Eliza Wilder.
