Max Wayne "Jack" Parker

"Services for Max W. Parker, age 66, were held Monday, July 16, 1990, in the Chapel of Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio, Texas. Hardy Cannon, Jack's brother-in-law, conducted the memorial service. Burial was in Mission Burial Park South. Mr. Parker died Saturday, July 14, 1990 in San Antonio. Max W. Parker was born to Roy and Myrtle Odom Parker on November, 11, 1924, in Coleman County. He attended schools in Coleman and graduated from Coleman High School in 1943. He joined the Navy after graduation and served in the Pacific during World War II, marrying Maxine Harper of Colorado City November 1, 1947. After their marriage, he entered the Texas Department of Public Safety School in Austin with training in the Drivers License Division. He was a driver's license examiner in several locations it Texas, including Coleman in the 1950's. Living in San Antonio for many years, he retired there from the DPS six years ago. Survivors include his wife, Maxine of San Antonio; a son, Max W. Parker, Jr. and a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Hope Parker, all of San Antonio; his mother, Myrtle Parker of Coleman; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jeane and Robert McHorse of Coleman and Joyce (Mrs. Foy) Goforth of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Joyce (Mrs. Billy) Parker of Fresno, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
