1775: Enlisted in 8th Regiment VA Line in Campbell Co., VA, under Capts. John EVERETT and KITE. (1b) Enlisted in the 8th Regiment, VA line at New London, VA, under Capt. John EVERETT. Served in Albemarle Co., VA, SC, GA, Battle of Brandywine, NJ. (3) 1775: Enlisted in the Revolutionary War. Promoted Captain. Was surrendered by Gen. LINCOLN and escaped, SC. Reenlisted and served with Capt. TAYLOR.
1793, 12 Mar: Will of Edward WATTS of Russell Parish, Bedford Co., VA. To my son William WATTS the manor plantation whereon I now live containing 225 acres of land and half the mill after my wife Elizabeth WATTS decease or widowhood. To my son William WATTS two negroes Charles and Eben. Also one roan horse and one bed. Executors, my two sons Benjamin WATTS and William WATTS.
