"Thomas Edward Pickett, of Maysville, Kentucky, was educated at Central University, Danville, Kentucky, and the University of Pennsylvania; a fellow of Am. A. of Medicine, class of 1865. He is a distinguished scholar, one of our most eminent scientists, and a writer of note; his "The Quest for a Lost Race" has attracted a great deal of attention."
