"Daniel Cantrell owned considerable property in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. He married and had several children. July 20, 1841, he made deeds of gift to children: Jane, Berryman, Isaac and Sarah, who left descendants whom we have not been able to trace. The witnesses to the deeds mentioned were Mark Forest, Peter Cantrell, Charles Cantrell and Isaac Cantrell, but there is nothing to show whether the three last were sons of Daniel Cantrell, or whether they were sons of Isaac Cantrell Cantrell, Sr., who also lived in that vicinity, and had sons named Peter and Charles."
