Individual Details
James Crawford Griggs
(October 16, 1873 - September 23, 1936)
"From Betty Duckworth. Shot and killed at the home of W. R. Wilson because Wilson was making whiskey and was afraid of being turned in by "Craft".
"From Wilma Griggs. The incident resulted from an incident that happened 3 years before where Craft had hit his neighbor over the head with an ax handle when the neighbor jumped him. This neighbor later shot Craft when Craft was looking for his horse that had got loose. The defense argued that this man was still in such a rage over the axe handle incident that he really could not be held accountable for his actions. He was found NOT GUILTY!!"
