Son of Sir Joseph Edward Leeds, of Croxton Park, Cambridge. Born at Olney, Somerset, 3rd May 1825. Served Sutlej 1845 (medal and bar). Married Fanny Templer at Calcutta, 21st January 1854 (second marriage).
Grave at Kasauli - "In affectionate remembrance of Col. Sir Edward Leeds Bart B.S.C. who died at Kalka Feby 16th 1876 aged 50 years 9 months 11 days."
