Alexander Templer
(Bef 13 Sep 1579 - Abt 1625)
The baptism of an Alexander Templer is recorded in the North Petherton registers on 13 September 1579, We know nothing of his life except what is given in his will dated 15 February 1625 and proved at Taunton 7 April 1626. This states he was a husbandman and desired to be buried in the churchyard of North Petherton. To his sister's children he gave 4d apiece!! To his (more fortunate) son, John, and daughter Elizabeth he gave 20 shillings each. The residue of his estate, probably that of a mediocre farmer, was left to his wife and sole executrix, Joan. His son, Richard, was not mentioned, though we know of his existence from other wills.
