Whereas Capt Richard Hill was under my command during the late Irish war, & volunteer with me in Flanders, I must needs give him this character that he behav'd himself on all occasions as a man of honour, & really with more courage & conduct than from one of his yrs could have been expected. For he was but 12 yrs old when he came into the army, & but 16 when his misfortune hap'ned which is 11yr since. Now the great concern for his misfortune, & his earnest desire to serve her Majesty again, even in any post
