Alice Mary Vinicombe

(Bef 1 Jul 1752 - 9 Nov 1829)

Family story states that she was the daughter or niece of General Vinicombe - I can find no evidence of this General Vinicombe.

In the Spectator Archives of the 23 Oct 1841 Pg 20 - On the 13th. at Plymouth, Major General Vinicombe, formally Commandant of Plymouth Division of royal Marines, in his 78th Year (b. 1763). This would make him the same generation as Alice Mary.

Marriage 1845 - At Honiton, C.F. Thorndike Esq, Lt Royal Artillery, only son of Captain Thorndyke, of the same corps, to Mary Ann, only child of the late William Vinicombe esq, and grand daughter of the late General Vinicombe, of Plymouth
