On March 22, 2021, Bruce Garver wrote the following short "bio" of Dr. Freeman Perry, who was born at Fairhaven in Bristol County, Massachusetts, on July 9, 1763, to parents whose names have not yet been identified. In that county, circa 1790, Freeman Perry wed Nancy Ruggles, with whom he had two children, Nancy Perry (1797-1798) and Armanilla Perry Kimball (1808–1895) before moving to Butler County, Ohio, circa 1810. The location of the grave of Nancy Ruggles Freeman has not yet been ascertained. Daughter Nancy Perry (1797-1798 was born and died in Bristol County, Massachusetts; and daughter Armanilla Perry (Kimball) was born in 1808, wed a Mr. Kimball, whose first name has not yet been identified, and died during the year 1890 in Franklin County, Indiana, where she was interred in Harmony Cemetery at Bath in Franklin County, Indiana.

Birth
Known by the original Wampanoag inhabitants as "Nobnocket", this area was first referred to by the colonial settlers as "Homes Hole"; "Homes" from a Wampanoag term for "old man," and "Hole" meaning a sheltered inlet. By the 19th century it was more commonly spelled "Holmes Hole" after the descendants of John Holmes (1730�?812) who had settled in the village during the second half of the 18th century.
