Individual Details

Nancy Hardage

(1 Jan 1834 - 1867)

Nancy married Ezekiel Peroneau Buffington in Hall County in 1858 and they had two children: Jesse W. and Marion C. Buffington.

Nancy's husband died in 1863 as a P. O. W. at Fort Delaware Prison during the Civil War. Nancy died in 1867, and likely is buried near her parents at the
Timber Ridge Cemetery in Hall County, GA.

After Nancy died, her brother James Monroe Hardage took the children into his household in Atlanta. However, he died in 1872, at which time the boys were sent to an orphanage in Atlanta. The brothers apparently remained together, and eventually returned to Hall County.
