Kathleen Elizabeth May Glynn

Cherry, Kathleen Elizabeth (Kay) of New Milford., Connecticut passed away at St Francis Hospital in Hartford on Thursday, 27 September 2012 at the age of 91 years. Kay was born in Sarnia Ontario and graduated as a nurse from Ontario College. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed having many friends. She was a lover of all animals, especially Sam, her Jack Russell. Kay was active in various charities and clubs in the Brookfield, Danbury and New Milford communities. Late in her life she became a successful entrepreneur and also served on the board of the Glen Hill Convalescent Center. Kay is survived by her sons Thomas R. Cherry, his wife Barbara and David A. Cherry and his wife Patricia and their daughter Erica, all of West Hartford, Connecticut. Many other family members, friends and acquaintances, will also miss her charm and humor. Kay's ashes will be placed in a niche at the Memorial Gardens, St Paul's Episcopal Church, Brookfield Center, Connecticut next to those of her husband, Dr Joseph B. Cherry. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the Dr. Joseph B. Cherry Memorial Nursing Scholarship which was created in 1999 with a gift from Kay and Dr Henry Blansfield to the WCSU Foundation.
