Oliver David Walker was born December 3, 1860, in Emporia, Kansas. He moved to Lawrence as a boy and attended school there and received a AB degree from the University of Kansas in 1883. In 1886 he received his doctorate from Keokuk Medical College in Iowa. 
He had been a physician at Haskell Institute in Lawrence, was past president of Kansas Medical Society and Kansas Board of Health. 
In 1891 he married Mary Louise Simpson of Lawrence. She died in 1906 after their move to Salina. In 1913 he married Margaret Moore; she was principal of Salina High School.
Survivors besides his wife were two daughters, Genevieve Angevine and Margaret Walker; a brother George Walker; a sister May Kenyon; and two grandchildren.
