Gentleman of Shalstone. Son and heir to Nicholas Purefoy and Alice Denton, grandson of John Purefoy, John Denton and Isabel Brome.
Husband of Anne Fettiplace, daughter of Richard Fettiplace and Elizabeth Bessiles, who was born in Shelford Parva 16 July 1496. They had eleven sons and one daughter; John, Thomas, Edward, William, Nicholas, Francis, Henry, Henry 2nd, Thomas 2nd, Richard, Charles and Mary, who married Thomas Thorne.
Edward was buried at Shalstone, Anne died 16 August 1568.
