Dorothy Ann "Dotty Ann" Blair Chapman Goodloe - age: 91 (May 08, 1920 to October 07, 2011) Resident of Houston, Texas Visitation Information: A memorial service is to be conducted at half past two o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, the 13th of October, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road, where Dr. Linda Christians, Executive Pastor, is to officiate. Complimentary valet parking will be available for those in need. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception to be held in the adjacent Fellowship Hall. In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions may be made to Randolph College, 2500 Rivermont Ave., Lynchburg, VA, 24503; to the Junior League Memorial Fund, 1811 Briar Oaks Ln., Houston, TX, 77027; St. Luke's United Methodist Church, P.O. Obituary: Dorothy Ann Blair Chapman Goodloe "Dottie Ann" died on the 7th of October 2011. She was born in Ft. Smith, Arkansas on the 8th of May 1920, to Dr. Arless Arland Blair and Florence McKennon Blair. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Kathryn Blair Allen; her first husband, Major Philip Godfrey Chapman (killed in the Air Force, World War II); a son, Blair Wilson Goodloe; and her husband, Dr. Noble Maxwell Goodloe. "Dottie Ann" grew up in Ft. Smith, attended Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, VA., where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, and was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She married Dr. Goodloe in 1948 and moved to Houston. In her earlier years, she was active in the Junior League, St. Luke's Methodist Church, and collaborated in the founding of the Randolph-Macon Alumna Club of Houston in the 50's. In 1970-72 she served on the Board of Trustees of Randolph-Macon. An ardent bridge tournament enthusiast, she reached the level of Diamond Life Master. She was a member of the Houston Country Club where she pursued another hobby of golf for over 50 years. She is survived by her sons, Philip Godfrey Chapman and wife Dolores Johnson Chapman, and Max Goodloe, Jr. and wife Jan Davenport Goodloe. Also surviving are granddaughters Elise McNeely Chapman, Greer Elizabeth Goodloe, and Allyson Ann Goodloe; as well as nieces, Pam Allen Piazzo, Linda Allen Harshbarger, and Carolyn Allen.
