-----------------------------------
Marilyn Joanne Craig was born in Alameda, California on October 29, 1932, to James M. Moore, Jr. and Nellie M. Moore. She was called home Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
Marilyn graduated as valedictorian from Alameda High School in 1950. After receiving a bachelor's degree in music from the College of the Pacific in 1954, she married the love of her life, Bob Craig. She taught school until starting her family. They moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1969, and she earned a Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of Arizona and then joined the faculty there.
After moving from Arizona to Highlands, Texas in 1979, she began working at the University of Houston library. She retired in 1998 and joined Bob in volunteering at the Wetlands Center in Baytown. Marilyn's passion for music was a lifelong avocation. She was a faithful member of Highlands United Methodist Church since 1983, serving as a member of the choir throughout those years.
Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many, who describe her as patient, kind, and the most selfless person you could ever meet.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Murray Craig, her daughter Laura Lynnae, her sister Barbara Morton and her brother James Moore III.
She is survived by her children Jennifer L. Hall and husband Trevor, Robert J. Craig and fiancée Natalia Martinez Lugo, Sarah N. Stanley and husband Roy, nine grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, nine great-grandsons (and counting).
Honoring the family as Pallbearers will be Robert W. Craig, Travis R. Stanley, Adam C. Stanley, Ryan Ackland, Joe Leal, and Jonathan Witt.
Friends are invited to visit with the family Monday, February 15, 2021, at 11:00 am with the Funeral Service at 12:00 pm at the Highlands United Methodist Church 107 W Houston St, Highlands, TX 77562.
