Remembering US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) WINSTON SAMFORD SMITH on the 18th year of his passing. Son of Samford and Nina Stillwell Smith, husband of Joyce Pell Smith.
Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in November 1944 as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer. He served during World War II, the Korean War era, and the Vietnam War era. He retired in 1969.
Winston was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904, Center, Texas. Brothers Robert, Joe, Jim, and Frank also served our country. He was buried with their wife Joyce Pell, his parents, and three brothers in the Newburn Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas. Day is done, God is nigh.
