James D. Fitts, 81, of Cheyenne died Oct. 4 at 3128 Boxelder Drive.
He was born June 17, 1919, in Holt, Ala., and had lived here for more than 70 years.
Fits was a machinist for Brenning Machine Shop for 30 years and retired as a boiler generator foreman from the state. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Fitts is survived by a son, Paul Fitts of Cheyenne; three daughters, Virginia Hadorn and Judy Krob, both of Wichita, Kan., and Mary Green of Santa Fe, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Theda M. Fitts on March 21, 1999; and his parents, Walter and Margaret Fitts.
