HICKORY FLAT - Joe Nick Brewer, 74, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at his home.
He was born April 15, 1933, in Flat Creek, Ala., to the late Grover T. Brewer and the late Violet Enson Brewer.
He was an industrial engineer, a computer analyst and an antique dealer.
A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was one of 16 men in a very elite unit assigned to a special radar observation post off the coast of Alaska at the start of the Cold War.
He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hickory Flat and very active in the Yes Ministries.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at United Funeral Service Chapel with Jeffrey Lee Brewer officiating.
Burial will be in Gerizium Cemetery in Myrtle.
Survivors include two daughters, Jo Leah Herod of Myrtle and Venessa Shoup of Hickory Flat; one son, Jeffrey Lee Brewer of Williams Port, Tenn.; one sister, Lanta Louise Craig of Myrtle; one brother, Charlie Brewer of Ridgeland; 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Julia Ann Coker Brewer.
Visitition will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
