Elizabeth K. Vogely October 31, 1929 November 25, 2017 Elizabeth K. Vogely, 88, of State College, died Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born October 31, 1929, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of The Reverend Dr. Robert Oliver and Ruth Elizabeth Hazlett Kevin. She married Dr. William A. Vogely, on 26 June, 1954, in Alexandria, Va. She is survived by two children, Margaret K. Krall and her husband, Thomas, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Robert K. Vogely, and his fiancee, Amy Daugherty, of State College; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Vogely Krall, Leah Lynn Vogely, Chelsea Joy Krall, and Oliver Lewis William Vogely; and great granddaughter, Phoebe Krall. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son William Arthur Vogely, Jr., and sister Ruth Jane Kevin. Elizabeth attended Bryn Mawr College, graduating cum laude with a bachelor's degree in economics in 1952. She also did graduate work, studying economics further at The University of Maryland. She worked for the federal government as an economist; research assistant and editor for several magazines; and was an assistant editor for Materials and Society Magazine. She was a member at St. Andrews Episcopal Church since 1974. Elizabeth also belonged to the American Association of University Women; and held office as the Democratic Precinct Committee-woman, from 1977 - 1981; and an Election Judge from 1975 - 1978 for Ferguson Township. She was a member of the League of Women Voters of PA, holding many offices. Visitation will be 11-1 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 208 W Foster Ave., State College, PA 16801. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with The Reverend Jeffrey A. Packard, officiating. Burial will be in Graysville Cemetery following the service.
