Mrs. Emily Jane Kerr, Elkland, a homemaker, died at 2:55 p.m. Sunday in St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the family home under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North with private burial at a later date.

Emily Jane Kerr, 67, "went home" at 2:55 p.m. on a beautiful spring Sunday, March 29, 1998. She died at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield., from a lung disease.
Emily was born Feb. 11, 1931 [1930] in Oklahoma, and in 1948 [1947] married Elvin Lee Kerr. They had two children and six grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving family and many friends. Included are her husband, Elvin Kerr; son, Ernest Kerr and wife, Terri; daughter Ellen Kerr; and grandchildren, Jeffrey Meeks, Jill Meeks, Steven Kerr, John Kerr, Bonnie Willis, and Alicia Kerr. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Jim and wife, Louise Lewis, Gene and wife, Norma Nichols, Louella Skaggs, Elerine Laverdue, Charles Kerr, Arlene and husband, John Bazan, Gary Kerr, Roger Kerr, Cheryl, and Husband, Bill Whatley, H.S. and wife Arlene Kerr, Walt and wife Hazel Eubanks; her mother Ann Wester and numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.
Emily loved her family and friends, and requested a simple gathering of family, friends and neighbors in the home she cherished. At 1 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 1998, friends and neighbors are welcome to join her family in an informal, casual gathering for lunch at the family home. Friend and neighbor, Al Christian, will share a few cheerful stories about her life.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, in her memory.
