William Richmond seems to have lived in several places in Ohio. He is listed as living in Lorain County, Cuyahoga, Dover, LaGrange, He is in the 1824 Lorain County (Ohio) tax records. According to the 1870 Census, At age 80, he was living with the Orlando Nash family. Orlando Nash was married to William Hall's granddaughter (Rhoda "Lutie" Ruth Ellsworth Nash).

PIONEER FAMILIES CROWD INTO SHEFFIELD

Freeman Richmond* and family took up their abode on Lot 2. This was first settlement of the town by a family. Next and soon came Oliver Moon, Milton Garfield, John B. Garfield, A. R. Dimmick, William Richmond and Willis Porter

First marriage : This highly interesting event occurred in the fall of 1816. The parties most interested were William Richmond and Miss Rhoda, adopted daughter of Reuben Cooper; Joel Terrell, Esq., of Ridgeville township, made the twain one flesh. This couple are both deceased. The marriage license gives the date of September 18, 1817, and says that both William and Rhoda are "of Dover". Justice of the Peace, "Joel Terril" was a veteran of the Revolutionary War.

METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH.
The first class of the Methodist Episcopal church was organized as early as 1820. Mr. Calvin Sweet furnishes the data from which the following brief history is prepared: This class was composed of Keyes Carpenter and wife, Waterman Sweet and wife, Ephraim Keyes and wife, Amasa Chapman and wife, Elah Park and wife, Willis Potter and wife, William Richmond and wife, and Mrs. Polly and Mary Cooper, wives of David and Reuben Cooper.

3. Irene B. Richmond (1822-1879) born 01 Sep 1822 in Logan County, Ohio; died 08 May 1879 in Pleasant Township, Van Wert, Ohio.m. George Washington Payne February 22, 1842. They made their home in Loraine County until 1851, then moved to Van Wert County. He reportedly was a carpenter by trade and erected the first house in Jackson Township, where he established his home on first coming to Van Wert County. He took up farming as his principal occupation. He afterwards moved to Pleasant Township. According to information from the Van Wert County, Ohio death records between 1867-1893, Irene died of cancer on May 8, 1879 at the age of 57 (56 years, 8 months and 8 days of age). Predeceased her husband. Her date of birth would have been approximately September 1, 1822. She is interred in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert County with her husband and a Catherine Payne, who appears to have been her husband's second wife. Alternate place of birth according to family records is Virginia. Their children listed at the end of this history.

5. Pamelia/Parmellia Richmond (1826 -); There was another Pamelia Richmond in Ohio, b.1846. Oddly enough, the only thing I can find on her is a marriage license to George Payne, the same man that married her sister. On an Ancestry Tree, it says her husband was a Truman Payne. I got the info on Irene from a personal website, and they indicated they had seen their headstone. Name: George W. 6. Laura Richmond (1828 - ). Name: Samuel S. Pardee Event: Marriage Event Date: 15 Jul 1848 Event Place: Lorain County, Ohio: Bride: Laura Richmond John Richmond applied for the marriage license. Is it possible that his father was unable to do so, and big brother John was looking out for little Laura, to see that the marriage went off without a hitch? (One internet page gives her parents as John "Richman" and Sylinda Martin.
