Clare Walker (nee Robinson), age 95, born Mar 19, 1926, passed away Jan 12, 2022. Clare Avis Robinson Walker, born March 19, 1926, in Elyria, OH, to Ruth and Clyde Robinson (deceased), wife of the late Fred A Walker; she is survived byher sister Claudia R. Gruen (Thomas); dear aunt to Cheryl Hailey (James) and Julie Mawaka (Scott) and cherished great aunt to Madeline and Andrew Persanyi, and Kylie and Jordyn Mawaka. Clare graduated from the College of Wooster, and taught at her Alma Mater for 4 years in the Department of Psychology. She attended Penn State University completing her doctorate requirements. She joined the Cleveland Clinic, where she was instrumental in the founding of the Department of Pediatrics, and served on the staff as a child psychologist for more than 35 years. Upon retirement Clare was a volunteer at the Museum of Natural History and at Severance Hall, and was a member of the Fairmount Garden Club. Clare traveled extensively, and enjoyed sailing Lake Erie with her husband. She was an accomplished needlepoint worker and knitter. Clare battled Alzheimer's Disease for the last 7 years. While the disease ravaged her mind, it did not diminish her quick smile and gentle demeanor. Clare was a loyal member of the choir and a Stevens Minister at the Church of the Western Reserve. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions should be made to the Church of the Western Reserve, 30500 Fairmount Blvd., Pepper Pike, OH 44124, or the charity of your choice.
