John William Kendrick II
John William Kendrick II died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at his Fairhope residence.
Kendrick attended New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ill., and received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University in 1942. He then went on to receive his master's from the University of Chicago.
In the United States Navy he was stationed in Guiuan on the island of Samar in the Philippines at what was to be a naval ammunition depot. He was ranked as a lieutenant when discharged in January 1946. He then become president of Met-L-Wood Corp. in Chicago.
Kendrick was involved in the Fairhope Sail and Power Squadron, Thomas Hospital Foundation and the Planned Giving Committee. He was also a member of the Lakewood Golf Club, Fairhope Yacht Club and the Eastern Shore Art Association.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Kendrick of Fairhope; a son, John W. Kendrick III of Bloomfield, Mich.; a daughter, Judith Elizabeth K. Galletta of New Jersey; three stepchildren, E. Morris Coley of Panama City, Fla., Michael R. Coley of Mission Viejo, Calif., and Catherine Coley of Fairhope; and 10 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Thomas Hospital Foundation, P.O. Drawer 929, Fairhope, AL 36533.
Arrangements are by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Katharine Forrest Kendrick and Carroll Crosby Kendrick, two sisters: Katharine Kendrick McCarty and Mary LeMoyne Kendrick Gail. He is survived by: His wife: Juanita Kendrick of Fairhope, AL, one son: John W Kendrick, III of Bloomfield, MI, One Daughter: Judith Elizabeth K. Galletta of New Jersey, three step-children: E.
