Herman Leon Jenkins

Leon Jenkins age 81 of Malvern passed away January 31, 2021. He was born October 4, 1939 in Glen Rose to Curtis and Hester Allen Jenkins. Leon graduated from Glen Rose High School, was a United States Marine Corp Veteran, and Manager of Malvern Insurance. Leon was also a member of South Main Missionary Baptist Church, supported 4-H, a member of the Hot Spring County Cattlemen’s Association, and a 32degree Mason. Leon loved hunting, fishing, golf, and bowling, arguing politics, and giving nicknames to family members. Leon also liked to have coke floats with his grandkids. Leon was a strong willed, slow driving, loyal family man. He traveled throughout the United States hunting and fishing and introduced numerous family and friends to the joy of the outdoors. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings: Dorothy Jenkins Ditzig, Helen Jenkins Robertson and Winston Jenkins.
Leon loved his wife, children and especially his grandchildren beyond all measure.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Patsy White Jenkins that started in a whirlwind romance with a letter from the Philippines where Leon was stationed, children Tony (Tisha) Jenkins and Teresa (Lance) Howell all of Malvern, grandchildren Ian Jenkins, Logan (Wyatt) McNanna, and Colton Jenkins, sisters, Charlotte (Jim) Walters of Glen Rose, and Virginia (Gary) Rudolph of Glenwood.
A walk through visitation will be held Tuesday February 2, from 5-7pm at Regency Funeral Home.
Services will be 2:00pm Wednesday February 3, at South Main Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Bart Herrington officiating with burial in Big Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ian Jenkins, Colton Jenkins, Logan McNanna, Wyatt McNanna, Kevin Rogers and Bill Bailey. Honorary pallbearers Doug Young, Charles Keeney, Jack Clayton, Carthel Scarbrough, Hubert Spann, Jim Walters, Gary Rudolph, and Dr. Amy Lynn Cleveland.
