Ernie Elmo Loftis

Ermie Elmo Loftis passed away on April 8, 2013. He was born February 27, 1924 to Laborn and Lizzie Loftis. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Allene and a daughter, Susie Rhodes.
He will be greatly missed by his sons, Farrell (Barbara); Ben (Kathy); Donnie; and daughter, Diane (Robert); along with 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Mason (Esther) Ray, and many more nephews, nieces, family and friends.
E. E. was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and never missed a Sunday until his health prevented regular attendance this year.
A devoted supporter of Little League Baseball, he was a manager/coach at Junior Deputy for 47 years, leaving behind many generations of baseball players. Loftis field was dedicated in honor of Ermie E. Loftis. He held the post of Junior Deputy Chaplain for many years and even after retiring still led the group in prayer at many ceremonies.
He loved sharing the vegetables of his garden with family, church and friends.
Burial in Quattlebaum Cemetery in Bee Branch.
