Louis Andrew Henricy

Louis Andrew Henricy, of Galveston died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at his residence in Texas City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008, at West Isle Presbyterian Church.
Burial will follow Tuesday, July 29, 2008, at 10:30 a.m., at Houston National Cemetery with honors in Houston under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home.
Louis was born on April 21, 1928, in Chicago, Illinois to Adolphus Andrew Henricy and Mabel Fraser Henricy.
He grew up in Houston and would have graduated from Reagan High School in Houston, but due to his war service, he subsequently was awarded an honorary diploma from Ball High School in 2001 with many other veterans of WW II. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Navy and then the US Navy Reserve until 1953.
He worked as the liaison coordinating of NASA Sky Lab, Lunar and Moon missions.
Also, he was involved in numerous closed-circuit events such as the national political conventions, and major sporting events for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company until retirement with more than 40 years of service.
His rewards and recognitions from NASA and many other National Events and Meetings are on display at the Southwestern Bell Building in Houston.
After he retired he and his wife moved from Houston to their beach home where they spent the next twenty-five years.
Mr. Henricy was a twenty-two-year member of West Isle Presbyterian Church in Galveston where he served as an elder, and the coordinator of the Christmas fund, and food and toys for the needy.
He loved his church, he enjoyed going on mission trips, and was a faithful Christian. Louis was a family man that truly loved his wife and family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.
He was a member of the Houston Bay Area Emmaus Community. Louis continually demonstrated God's love through his servant's heart and generous spirit.
Louis will be missed by many people.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Phyllis Anderson, niece, Karen Anderson, and a nephew, Charles David Hardy.
Survivors include wife of 48 years, Virginia Lee Henricy of Galveston; daughter, Susie Rinker and husband Mark of Austin, Texas; sisters, Athlie Hardy of Friendswood, Norma Martin of Houston, and Jackie Ferguson and husband Tally of Buffalo, Texas; brother, Bill Henricy of Galveston; grandsons, Jonathan Neff Rinker of Austin, and David Andrew Rinker of Austin, numerous other relatives and many friends.
Memorials may be sent to Hospice Care Team 1708 North Amburn Road Suite C Texas City, Texas.
