Joe Mac Pittman passed away peacefully at his residence Saturday, March 4, 2023 surrounded by family and friends. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Joe Mac worked for Union 76 Oil in Nederland and retired from Lufkin Industries. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was an active member of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church and loved his church family.
Joe Mac was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Bascum and Lucille (Barge) Pittman; son, George "Skip" Freshour, Jr.; daughter, Murri Michele Moses; brothers, Don Easley and Ralph Pittman; and sister, Becky Johnson.
