Edna Maples Obituary
Edna Irene Maples 8/29/1913 born to Mack Lee Maples and Ada (Norman) Maples in Princeton, Tx. Married to Thomas L. Inman (T.L.) in 1932. The family lived in Texas until 1958 and had one son: Mack Lee and a daughter Mary Maxine before moving to Tucson, Az. in the early 1940's. There they raised their two children and had their third child, Olivia. Irene sewed for the public and styled hair while T.L. worked for Ryan Field, Carpenters Union, and as an auto mechanic.
In 1958 T.L., Irene and Olivia moved to Midland where Irene continued to work at her chosen profession, that of a hair stylist, which she began in 1935. Irene was able to work until she lost most of her vision about the age of eighty.
Although the last few years she was not able to do those things she loved such as sewing and a little gardening she tried to maintain a positive attitude. She would make the comment "I want to live to be a hundred".
Irene wished to live in her home and was blessed with that wish until her last few days before she passed from this life.
We will miss her quick, dry sense of humor and the special expressions unique only to her. We are assured that now she is in the arms of our Lord Jesus and has no more pain.
Preceding Irene in death were her parents, her much-loved husband and son, four sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include Maxine & Dale Forse and Olivia & Don Hipps; grandchildren, John Coate, Debbie Murray, Dusty Townsend, Piper Ellis, Tammy Dopp and Todd Hipps, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers, Don Hipps, Todd Hipps, Jarib Dopp, Caleb Dopp, John Dopp, and Bill Futrell.
Services will at Bellview Baptist Church at 1710 N. Big Spring St. Midland, Tx. At 3:00 PM Monday April 24th. The Reverend Myron Unruh will be officiating. Interment will at Restheaven Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Midland or of your chosen charities.
